Some various Wargames depict different important wars that have happened in the past. Although all of them shaped the world in one way or another, some stood out that became favourites by Wargame players to simulate. If you want to learn more about them, here are some of the most historic wars that impacted the world:

World War I

The First World War, also known as the Great War, was one of the most historic battles that have occurred in the history of mankind. It was a gruelling war that spanned for four years (1914 – 1918) between the Allied Forces and the Central Powers which ended with the latter being victorious.  It was so grim that people thought that it would be the last war that they would see.

The Great War came about because of the tensions and treaties that were brewing between European and Asian countries. It is believed that around 30 million people have perished during this horrific event.

World War II

After the great war, a newly formed international organization called the League of Nations were founded. This was created to answer the disputes that were happening around the world between different countries. However, what people didn’t expect to happen was that this led to strong displeasure in Germany which eventually led to the Second World War.

World War II spanned from 1939 to 1945 between the Axis powers and the Allies and it happened in every corner of the world. This was also the time when the infamous dictator of Germany, Adolf Hitler, blamed Jews, black people, homosexuals and other minorities for all the bad things that were happening in the Western civilization.

The war ended with the Allies being the victor and it also led to the formation of the United Nations (U.N.) which still exists today and are responsible for tackling international relations.

Cold War

One of the aftermaths of the Second World War was that the European nations were surpassed by the USSR and the United States. Both nations used this time to improve their political and economic powers at the time. This led to non-overt battles between the Soviet Union and the United States which became known as the Cold War.

The war spanned generations starting from 1946 and ending in 1991. This 45-year long war was a battle for supremacy and there was no definite winner as the USSR collapsed in 1991.
